Included in the exhibit are portraits of murderers, thieves, con men, bootleggers, gangsters, white-collar criminals, and an assortment of other lawbreakers, ranging from radical labor union leader William “Big Bill” Haywood and Robert Stroud — better known as the “Birdman of Alcatraz” — to African American heavyweight boxing champion Jack Johnson and train robber Al Jennings.

Also on view will be museum artifacts from the KCK police department, recent arrivals of the Pretty Boy Flyod collection and information on William LaTrasse, an infamous train robber from Armourdale.

The Wyandotte County Museum will be exhibiting artifacts, on loan from the Kansas State Historical Society, from the Quindaro ruins. All artifacts were excavated from the archaeological site of the old town of Quindaro. In addition, to help celebrate the 150th anniversary of Wyandotte County, we will have on display a high quality reproduction of the State of Kansas Constitution from the Wyandotte Constitutional Convention of 1859. This reproduction was recently acquired from the Kansas State Historical Society. For more information regarding the exhibition, contact Jennifer Laughlin, curator at jlaughlin@wycokck.org
